Color According to Your Scenario: Why Customization is Essential for Interiors
The home is increasingly becoming not just a space for living but a way to express individuality. Universal interior solutions are gradually giving way to personalized ones, where color, texture, details, and the possibility of creating combinations not previously available in ready-made collections become crucial.
Experts from Kastamonu Russia explain why customization is becoming one of the prominent trends in modern interiors and how manufacturers can respond to the demand for individuality.
From Mass Production to Personalization
The 20th century was an era of mass production: goods were created for a broad audience, and choices were often limited to a few ready-made options. In the 21st century, personalization has already become an integral part of daily life — we choose custom settings for gadgets, car configurations, clothing colors, accessories, and much more.
Now, this principle is actively entering interior design. People not only want to choose beautiful items but also to get solutions that align with their own ideas of comfort and aesthetics. Therefore, the ability to combine materials, shades, and textures, experiment with details, and create individual scenarios has come to the forefront.
For designers, this means expanding the traditional boundaries of their work. Previously, concepts had to be adapted to existing mass-produced solutions, but today there are more opportunities to create unique combinations of materials. Moreover, customization is not only appealing to professionals: clients themselves can choose colors and experiment with interiors, shaping spaces to their taste.
Color as a Design Tool
One of the most expressive elements of interior design remains color. It can change how a space is perceived, set the mood, highlight accents, and create a particular rhythm.
The same interior can look entirely different depending on the chosen palette. Subtle, harmonious shades create a cohesive and balanced space, while contrasting combinations make it more dynamic and expressive. Color can emphasize the geometry of furniture, visually divide areas, add depth, or become an accent detail that reveals itself only in specific scenarios.
The idea of freedom in working with color became the foundation of the "Kastamonu Customization" project. The company proposed a new perspective on interior facades: what if a single product could combine two decors of different colors, offering limitless combinations?
One Product, Two Colors = Transforming Space
"Kastamonu Customization" consists of double-sided decorative panels, Evosoft and Evogloss, which allow different decors from Kastamonu's product portfolio to be combined on the external and internal sides of a single facade. The primary goal of customization is to create interiors with character: individual, expressive, and reflecting the style of the owner.
This way, one product enables two different visual scenarios. The colors may be similar in tone and texture, creating a sense of unity, or they may be built on striking contrasts, adding dynamism to the interior.
The second color doesn't have to be visible. Hidden inside a cabinet or shelf, it reveals itself only when opened, becoming an unexpected accent. This technique adds depth, emotion, and an element of surprise to the interior.
Kastamonu Customization as Creative Freedom
"Kastamonu Customization" is not just about choosing two colors. First and foremost, it is a tool for personalization, enabling solutions tailored to specific ideas, spaces, and individuals. A personal visual code.
To showcase the diversity of possible combinations of decorative panels, Kastamonu engaged industry experts in the project. Participants included Timofey Pronkin, a show business star and restoration workshop owner, as well as interior designers Anna Erman, Sara Mikhaylova, and Tatyana Bezverkhaya.
The participants created over ten décor combinations — ranging from restrained and calm to bright and experimental. In their solutions, they combined matte and glossy surfaces of Evosoft and Evogloss decorative panels, colorful decors, and wood textures.
These examples demonstrate how the same idea can be revealed in entirely different ways. Two colors in one product can complement each other, create contrasts, emphasize individual furniture elements, or remain almost invisible until a specific moment.
This approach removes limitations when choosing from ready-made solutions and gives designers the freedom to create unique, signature décor combinations tailored to each project's idea.
Interiors with Character
Personalization is becoming a part of our daily lives. Today, interiors are not pre-made solutions but creative spaces: an opportunity to choose colors, combine materials, experiment, and create a home that reflects you.
Customization makes interiors truly personal. After all, a home is not just a beautiful picture, but a living space that reflects the character, habits, and tastes of its owner.
Double-sided decorative panels from "Kastamonu Customization" offer a new perspective on familiar interior elements. A single facade can combine two colors, two textures, and two different moods, while the number of possible combinations depends only on the project idea, the designer's imagination, and the interior owner's preferences.
Color. Energy. Moving Towards a Dream.
Color inspires. Energy is born from combinations. And dreams become part of the space we live in.
