A Kastamonu Entegre Session at EcoMat:

Innovation Redefined Through R&D and Sustainability

Kastamonu Entegre, one of the global leaders in the wood-based panel industry, participated in EcoMat Conference 2025 that was organized around the theme “Materials and Technologies for a Sustainable Future” under the sponsorship of Hayat Holding. At the session titled “Exploring the New Dimension of Innovation with Sustainable Materials”, the company’s Global R&D and Innovation Director Dr. Hüseyin Güler delivered an in-depth presentation on the role of R&D in the circular economy.

Held between July 28 and August 1 at Istanbul Technical University’s Maçka Campus under the sponsorship of Hayat Holding, EcoMat Conference 2025 brought together academia, business leaders, non-governmental representatives, and policymakers around the key themes of sustainable materials, energy efficiency, and the circular economy. As Turkey’s leading and one of the world’s foremost producers of wood-based panels, Kastamonu Entegre showcased its initiatives in an exclusive session.

An R&D Vision for the Circular Economy

Speaking in the session “Exploring the New Dimension of Innovation with Sustainable Materials”, the company’s Global R&D and Innovation Director Dr. Hüseyin Güler shared insights into how R&D contributes to the circular economy.

He highlighted strategic initiatives such as establishing a centralized R&D structure, developing data-driven decision-making tools, driving sustainability- and circularity-oriented innovation, and creating innovation platforms that address real-world challenges. During the session, CoffeeBoard, HempBoard, and PureBoard were presented as examples of new sustainability-driven materials.

Following his presentation, Dr. Hüseyin Güler was honored with a plaque in recognition of his contributions.

Kastamonu Entegre’s Showcase of Sustainable Products

At the company’s exhibition booth, PureBoard, CoffeeBoard, and HempBoard were presented to participants, highlighting Kastamonu Entegre’s vision for the circular economy and bio-based materials.

PureBoard, one of the products showcased at the booth, features a bio-based adhesive and a 100% recyclable, non-formaldehyde (NAF) composition, offering solutions for healthier and lower-carbon living spaces. CoffeeBoard, also showcased, contributes to environmental sustainability and social added value by upcycling waste coffee grounds. Attracting strong interest from participants, HempBoard transforms the woody residues from the hemp plant into raw material and promotes the conservation of natural resources.
