R&D Center

We combined our R&D activities under a single roof and established an R&D Center in Istanbul Teknopark in late 2018. In 2020, we obtained our R&D Center certification. An interdisciplinary, 25-strong team consisting of chemists, chemistry engineers, forest industry engineers, materials engineers, polymer engineers, environmental engineers, nano-engineers, and bio-engineers work on our R&D priorities grouped under five main categories.

  • Adhesive Technologies
  • Wood Preservation Technologies
  • Surface Technologies
  • Wood-Based Composites
  • Sustainability

Infrastructure

Our R&D center established on an area of 600 m2 at the Yeditepe Technology Office at Teknopark Istanbul contains four laboratories.

  • General Chemistry/Adhesive Synthesis Laboratory
  • Instrumental Analysis and Characterization Laboratory
  • Wood Preservation Laboratory
  • Panel/Composite Laboratory

Projects

We project our new product development and improvement activities on national and international platforms and actively employ our quality infrastructure to benefit these projects. Project ideas developed in line with our priorities and global sustainability goals are supported by the European Commission, Eureka Network, British Council, and Tubitak as part of calls for international cooperation such as Horizon Europe, Eureka Network, Eurogia, and Newton-Katip Çelebi Fund.

Cooperations

Operating in a global partnership network of universities, institutes, and companies on national and international projects, our R&D center supports 13 doctorate students in cooperation with five universities as part of TUBITAK 2244 Industrial Doctorate Program. This program aims to improve the quality and quantity of human capital needed to accelerate digital transformation and reach the desired levels in the value chain.
